‘The Voice’ Finalist Jacquie Roar Talks Upcoming Collabs With Coach Reba McEntire and Tom Nitti (Exclusive)

Jacquie Roar might have not won season 24 of The Voice, but she’s coming out of the competition with some major friendships and an upcoming reunion with her coach, Reba McEntire!

ET’s Deidre Behar spoke with the country-rock singer on the red carpet following the epic season finale — where rocker and father of two Huntley was crowned the newest champion — and she opened up about the bittersweet ending to her time on the NBC singing competition.

“I’m feeling really sad that it’s gonna be over,” Jacquie admitted. “This has been six months of just, like, a lot of pressure but also a lot of beautiful moments — creating friendships and growing as an artist.”

Jacquie even revealed that coach Reba has invited her over for dinner the next time she’s in Nashville!

“Actually her old agent contacted me and so we’ve been working on stuff,” she shared. “I’ll be coming out with a record really soon — [I’m] gonna be recording in January, and when Reba heard I was going to Nashville in January she was like, ‘Well then you’re coming over!’ Things are happening.”

The singer called her upcoming project “explosive rock country” and even shared that it might be featuring another Voice collab — with her friend Tom Nitti, who left season 24 ahead of the Playoffs amid a contentious custody battle with his ex-wife.

“I spoke with him today — He was just rooting me on and saying that he was really proud of me,” she shared. “Tom and I are good friends. And there’ll be music coming out between both of us as well… As soon as they let me release it, I’m releasing it.”

Following a heartfelt Instagram post after he left the show due to “personal reasons,” Tom went more in-depth about what exactly went down in an interview with the Utica Observer-Dispatch. He revealed that, during his time on the show, his now ex-wife decided to try and pursue full custody of their two children.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to pursue music full-time, but I can’t do that without a cushion,” explained the law enforcement officer and Purple Heart recipient. “As a dad, I need to make sure my children will be supported.”

The singer has since revealed that he recently wrote a song about the situation called “Redemption Road,” which he hopes to share with his kids in the future.

As for his Voice family, the singer raved that “The most positive thing from my experience on the show was the camaraderie I found among other vocalists.”

“The producers on the show treat you like gold,” he added. “And Reba is the most genuine person – she is the same on TV as she is in real life.”

The Voice returns for season 25 in February 2024.
