These Pop Culture Portraits Are Perfectly Poised

Phil and Rita from Groundhog Day are just two of Dakota Randall’s portrait subjects.Image: Dakota Randall/Hero Complex

Sometimes you just want a portrait of your favorite characters from TV and movies on your wall. And when that happens, artist Dakota Randall is there. In conjunction with the Hero Complex Gallery, Randall has been creating beautiful, affordable, realistic-looking portraits for a few years now, inspired by dramas, comedies, sci-fi, fantasy, you name it. And after years of simply admiring the work, we thought it was time to shine a light on it.

All the pieces that follow, as well as those Groundhog Day portraits above, measure 12 x 12 inches each in limited editions of 135 and cost $25 each. Who else is available? Well, in the next 20 slides, we’ll show you way less than half. Every single character we’re about to highlight is part of at least a pair. You can see them all, and buy them, at this link, but check out a few of our favorites.
