Thunderstorm might result in flooding in elements of Coachella Valley

A flood and thunderstorm warning was issued for elements of the Coachella Valley on Sunday afternoon as thunderstorms have been anticipated to come back in from the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains.

The Nationwide Climate Service issued the warning simply after 2 p.m. Sunday, saying the southern edges of some Coachella Valley cities, from Palm Springs to Palm Desert, might expertise flooding as rainwater descends from larger elevations. The flood advisory included parts of Freeway 74 and the areas of Idyllwild, Anza and Mountain Middle.
