What time is the NFL game tonight? TV schedule, channel for Lions vs. Packers in Week 4

It’s time for the NFL’s latest edition of “Thursday Night Football,” and once again, Amazon Prime is treating its audience to a battle between NFC playoff contenders.

This week, the Lions will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers. This will be the 188th installment of the rivalry between the two teams, and while the Packers hold a 105-75-7 advantage in the all-time series, they will be looking to avenge a Week 18 loss to the Lions from last season.

Detroit played the role of ultimate spoiler in the final game of the 2022 NFL season when they squared off against Green Bay. The Packers were facing a win-and-in scenario that would have allowed Aaron Rodgers to have one last playoff appearance with the team.

Instead, the Lions rode into Lambeau Field and earned a 20-16 victory. That eliminated the Packers from playoff contention and brought the Rodgers era to an end.

Now, the Packers will look to return the favor as the Lions (2-1) face the pressure of increased expectations for the 2023 NFL season. Detroit was favored to win the NFC North, but Green Bay (2-1) can gain an upper hand on the Honolulu Blue with a victory.

Jordan Love will need to bring his A-game to defeat a Lions defense that just held the Falcons to six points. Even so, the first-year starter led the Packers to a come-from-behind victory against the Saints in Week 3, so they should be motivated and up for the challenge in this one.

This game may come down to which side is healthier, as “TNF” games often do. The Lions were dealing with injuries to Amon-Ra St. Brown and David Montgomery, among others, entering this contest while Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins and Jaire Alexander missed the Packers’ win over the Saints in Week 3.

If Green Bay can get at least some of those players back, it may be hard for Detroit to win again in a hostile environment. Even so, it should be a tightly contested game.

NFL schedule Week 4

The Lions vs. Packers matchup will begin NFL Week 4 with a battle for the top spot in the NFC North. Green Bay will be looking to avenge a loss at the hands of Detroit in Week 18 last season that knocked it out of the playoffs, so the Packers should be extra amped for this matchup.

The NFL Sunday slate, meanwhile, will get started a bit earlier than usual, as the Falcons and Jaguars will do battle in the first NFL London game of the season. Jacksonville has become accustomed to playing in England and will be in need of a strong performance to avoid dropping to 1-3 on the season.

The other stand-alone games on the slate are the “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Chiefs and Jets and a “Monday Night Football” battle between the Giants and Seahawks. Both matchups should be intriguing, as Patrick Mahomes will be tested by a solid Jets defense while the Seahawks and Giants were both playoff teams last season.

As far as the Sunday slate is concerned, the Dolphins-Bills game will be the best matchup of the bunch, as Buffalo will look to give Miami a real test after the Dolphins scored 70 points in a rout of the Broncos. And speaking of Denver, they are facing Chicago in a battle of 0-3 teams; the loser of that game will temporarily own the label of being the NFL’s worst team.
