For one final time, the NFL says “guten tag” from overseas this week, as the Patriots and Colts wrap up the 2023 international series with one last global game in Frankfurt, Germany.
Deutsche Bank Park hosted last week’s international game, a 21-14 win for the Chiefs over the Dolphins. The venue is once again hosting American football again, with New England and Indianapolis set to take the field today.
The Frankfurt stadium, also known to Germans by its original name, Waldstadion, is one of the 10 biggest stadiums in the country, carrying a capacity of more than 51,000 spectators. It hosted the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Who plays at Deutsche Bank Park?
Deutsch Bank Park is home to Eintracht Frankfurt, a German soccer club that plays in the Bundesliga, the highest level of professional soccer in the country.
The stadium has hosted the team for 60 years. While it was built in 1925, Eintracht Frankfurt did not call the venue home until 1963.

Who is Eintracht Frankfurt?
Eintracht Frankfurt plays in the Bundesliga, the top professional soccer league in Germany. The club was founded more than 120 years ago in 1899 and is based in Frankfurt.
The team has won the Bundesliga once. That championship came in 1959, which is also the last time Eintracht played for the league title. It has two championship appearances in total — 1959 and 1932, when the club lost to FC Bayern Munich.
On the continental scale, Eintracht has won the UEFA Champions League once, which came during the 1959-60 season. It has earned two UEFA Europa League championships more recently, with Eintracht’s first win at the second tier of European club soccer coming in 1979-80, and its last coming in 2021-22. In addition, Eintracht on five occasions has won the DFB-Pokal, an annual German knockout cup competition.
Arguably the most famous player to suit up in Eintracht colors is Charly Korbel. The former defender spent his entire career with Eintracht, playing for the club from 1972-91.
Korbel holds the record for most appearances in club history, as well as the Bundesliga record for most appearances. He was one of the leaders on the 1980 Eintracht team that won the organization its first UEFA Europa League cup.
