Zac Brown is taking legal action against his estranged wife Kelly Yazdi after she seemingly accused him of “narcissistic abuse” in a post on social media.

In December 2023, the 45-year-old country music star and his former partner announced that they were getting a divorce four months after getting married.

On Friday (May 17), Zac sought a temporary restraining order against Kelly and is attempting to get her to remove a social media post that seemingly references their relationship.

On Instagram earlier this month, Kelly shared a post and reflected on a “rebirth.”

“Her love was always unconditional. She thought his was too… But overtime it became apparent that he only knew conditional love; his unhealed trauma expressing itself thru his need to tame,” she wrote in the caption.

“Don’t model anymore. Take this picture off your Instagram. Don’t wear that in the house. Don’t post that bikini picture. Don’t post anymore fitness videos. Yes I said you could post that, but now I’m saying take it down. I don’t want other men looking at what is mine. I want to protect you, your body is sacred to me, can’t you see this is because I love you. I don’t want to be with the kind of woman who has to show off her body for attention. I will f*cking leave you,” she continued.

“Projections. Gaslighting. Threatening. Stonewalling. Those are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse,” Kelly wrote. “That ‘love’ is conditional. ‘Love’ disguised as compromise when in reality, it was control.”

Zac took issue with the post and alleged that it is in violation of a confidentiality agreement that Kelly signed.

“After much deliberation, I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us to maintain personal and business affairs in confidence and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation,” he said in a statement shared with People. “My only hope is for us to keep private matters private and to move forward with the mutual respect we had agreed to show one another when we parted ways.”

In court documents, Zac accused Kelly of attempting to “exact revenge.”

He is asking that she not “[make] any public statement or disclosing any confidential or private information in violation of the terms of Ms. Yazdi’s Employee and Confidentiality Agreements.”

If you were unaware, Kelly worked with Zac‘s band before they got married and through February 2024.
