MANILA, Philippines–June Mar Fajardo believes he’ll have enough to recover from a hand injury he suffered during San Miguel Beer’s escape act over Rain or Shine in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday.

Fajardo had to be treated after hurting his left hand while trying to contest a layup try by rookie Adrian Nocum during the Beermen’s 115-110 win at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“Hindi naman siguro to major. Aksidente lang,” Fajardo said in a short chat with reporters. “Sana walang masyadong [damage].”

San Miguel won’t play until Dec. 8 when it takes on NorthPort at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The seven-time PBA Most Valuable Player managed to return to action for a brief time in the fourth with his hand being taped-up which somewhat limited Fajardo in a way.

Coach Jorge Gallent eventually placed Fajardo back on the bench for the remaining moments of the nightcap.

“I’m confident that his hand would get better before our next game,” said Gallent.

Fajardo finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in the game that saw San Miguel improve to 3-1 in the season-opening tournament.
